Robert E. Hatton
Robert E. Hatton, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hatton, was born
in Corning, Adams county Iowa, February 14, 1861, and passed away in the
Clarinda Hospital July 12th, 1946, at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 28 days.
Throughout his entire life, he devoted his time to farming, never
leaving Adams county until he entered the hospital, his health having
failed during the past few years.
Having lived in the county for so many years, he was interested
in the many changes which took place and saw the land change from raw,
open country into farms, towns and villages. He was interested in
raising stock and was successful in that phase of farming.
He leaves to mourn his passing, one brother, J. D. Hatton. Three
brothers and one sister preceded him in death, Edward, Thomas, William
and Mrs. Joe Miller. Besides the brother, he leaves a number of nieces
and nephews, and a large circle of friends.
Funeral services were held in the church of his faith, St.
Patrick's Church in Corning, July 15th, conducted by Rev. Father M. J.
Powers, with interment in Calvary Cemetery. Pall Bearers were Harry
Miller, Joe Hatton, Mike Jennings, Francis Miller, James Hatton and Albert Hogan.
