Mrs. Edwin (Bernice) Haubrich
Mrs. Edwin (Bernice) Haubrich, 74, of Maple River died
unexpectedly early Saturday, June 21, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m.
Tuesday, June 24, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Maple River with the
Rev. John McGuirk as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Francis Parish
Cemetery at Maple River. Lector for the Mass will be Bill Schrad.
Gift-bearers will be her grandchildren, Jessica, Ted, Tricia and Jeremy
Haubrich. Mass-servers will be Tim and Travis Rohe and John Lemker.
Casket-bearers will be her grandsons, Mike and Dave Haubrich and Chris,
Randy, Kevin and Joe Yockey.
The Carroll Registered Nurses' Association will form an honor
guard for the funeral Mass.
Friends may call at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2 p.m. today.
Rosaries will be recited at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. today by St. Francis
Parish and the Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and another
rosary will be recited at 8:45 tonight.
Surviving are her husband, Edwin, of Maple River; daughters, Mrs.
Ronald (Beverly) Yockey of Wheaton, Ill., and Mrs. Jim (Janet) DeMarco
of Fountain Valley, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Elaine
Haubrich of Council Bluffs, Robert and Katie Haubrich of Omaha, Neb.,
Dale and Judy Haubrich of Bloomfield, Colo., and Michael and Cindy
Haubrich of Arcadia; 26 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren;
sisters, Sister Mary Coralita (Maxine) of Ann Arbor. Mich., and Lavola
Babich of Brecksville, Ohio; and brothers, Cletus Ellerbrock of
Okeechobee, Fla., and Paul Ellerbrock of Sac City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ettna
Mattex Ellerbrock.
Bernice Ellerbrock was born on Dec. 5, 1911, at Auburn. She grew
up in Auburn and attended schools there. She graduated from the former
St. Anthony School of Nursing in Carroll and became a registered nurse.
She married Edwin Haubrich at St. Mary's Church in Auburn on Feb. 23,
1935. The couple farmed near Auburn until 1942, when they moved to the
farm home one mile west of Maple River. The couple celebrated their
golden .wedding anniversary in August 1985.
Mrs. Haubrich was a member of St. Francis Parish, the St. Francis
Ladies' Guild and the Carroll Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
