Edwin Haubrich
Mass of the Christian burial for Edwin Haubrich of Carroll
will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Dec. 2. 1997, at St. Francis Church in Maple River.
Mr. Haubrich, 88, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at Carroll Health Center.
The Rev. Robert Brown will officiate the Mass. Lectors will be
Trisha Haubrich and Kim Jankovsky. Gift bearers will be Jessi Haubrich.
Connie Haubrich and Gina DeMarco. Servers will be Amanda Haubrich, Aaron
Haubrich and Susan Jankovsky.
Casket bearers will be Chris Yockey, Jim Haubrich, Steve DeMarco,
Ted Haubrich, Tim Haubrich and Jeremy Haubrich.
Burial will be St. Francis Cemetery at Maple River.
Friends called and a rosary was recited this afternoon at Sharp
Funeral Home in Carroll. St. Francis Parish will hold a Christian wake
service at 7:30 and the Carroll Knights of Columbus will have a rosary
at 8:15 tonight at the funeral home.
A son of John and Anna (Werner) Haubrich, he was born Feb. 19,
1909, at Roselle. He spent his younger years in that community and
attended rural schools.
He and Bernice Ellerbrock were married Feb. 23, 1935, at St. Mary
Church in Auburn.
They resided at Auburn, where Mr. Haubrich owned and operated a
feed-grinding and hay-baling business.
The Haubrichs moved to a farm one mile west of Maple River in 1942.
Mr. Haubrich moved to Carroll in 1988 and had been at Carroll
Health Center since October 1995.
He was a member of St. Lawrence Parish in Carroll, a former
member of St. Francis Parish and an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include six children and their spouses: Beverly and
Ronald Yockey of Wheaton, Ill., Janet and Jim DeMarco of Fountain
Valley, Calif., Larry and Elaine Haubrich of Council Bluffs. Robert and
Katie Haubrich of Omaha, Dale and Judy Haubrich of Bloomfield, Colo.,
and Michael and Cindy Haubrich of Arcadia; 26 grandchildren; 32
great-grandchildren; and four sisters: Lorraine Wille of Sioux City,
Rose Wessling of-Bellevue, Neb., Margaret Shook of Hastings, Mich., and
Etta Fischer of Arlete, Calif.
Mr. Haubrich was preceded in death by his parents; his wife,
Bernice, in 1986; and two brothers: Carl and Henry Haubrich.
