Joseph Paul Hoffman
Manning - Joseph Paul Hoffman, 79, of Manning died Friday,
Nov. 22, 1991, after he suffered an aneurysm while driving west of Ogden.
Mass of the Christian burial will be Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 10:30
a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Manning with the Rev. Ralph Reinhart celebrant.
Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Manning. Casket
bearers will be Brad Riesenberg, Mike Waterbury, Linda Riesenberg, Maria
Abbott, Gerald Schulte and Leroy Dammann.
Visitation will begin at 7 p.m. Monday and after 2 p.m. Tuesday
at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning. Rosary will be recited at 8 tonight.
On Tuesday, the rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. A prayer
service will follow the 7 p.m. rosary.
Mr. Hoffman was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Templeton, a son of Anton
and Anna (Haferland) Hoffman. He grew up in Templeton, attending
Templeton schools. He worked on area farms until the time of his marriage.
On Aug. 20, 1940, he married Cletta Reinart at Manning. He worked
for the Manning Creamery Co. for 30 years.
After retirement, he and his wife lived in Manning. From
1979-1984, the couple lived in Boone.
Mr. Hoffman was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish in Manning, the
Knights of Columbus in Templeton and the local senior citizen group.
Survivors include his wife, Cletta, of the Manning Plaza; his
children: Betty and her husband, Bob Waterbury, of Boone; Melvin Hoffman
and his wife, Helen, of Rawlins, Wyo.; Hilbert Hoffman and his wife,
Debra of Orlando, Fla.; and Barbara and her husband, Jerome Riesenberg,
of Roselle; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother,
Bill Hoffman and his wife, Bertha, of Carroll, and a sister, Lizzie
Steffes, of Canute, Okla.
