Clara Hogan

With the Sick

  Mrs. Albert Hogan underwent brain surgery December 27, 1978, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. She was in Intensive Care until January 12, when she was moved to Room 244. Mrs. Hogan is still in a coma. Her address is: Mrs. Clara Hogan, 2805 South 10th, St Joseph Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, Room 244.

Deaths

  Mrs. Albert Hogan, 57, died Monday afternoon at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Corning. Funeral arrangements were pending at the Roland Funeral Home at press time.

Clara Hogan

  Clara Hogan, daughter of Florence (Bittner) and Clarence E. Pendleton, was born November 4, 1916, in Montgomery Co., Iowa, and passed away August 26, 1974, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Corning, Iowa, at the age of 57 years, 9 months, and 22 days. She lived her entire life in Montgomery and Adams County.
  She was united in marriage to Robert "Albert" Hogan on June 10, 1940. To this union nine children were born. All of them survive: Mary Clara and husband, Kenneth Olive, of Charlton; John Hogan of Corning; Patricia and husband, Richard Bissell, of Corning; Sharon and husband, Ted Bissen, of Aurora, Colorado; Marcella and husband Phil Gearheart, of Corning; Helen and husband Don Chute, of Sonoma, Calif.; Theresa and husband, Steve Durkin of Huntington, England; Catherine and husband Alan Luther, of Prescott, and Jacqueline of Corning.
  She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Florence Pendleton, and a sister, Bertha Grace. Her father, Clarence Pendleton of Corning, a sister, Mrs. Paul (Blanche) Wenninghoff of Omaha, Neb. and two brothers, Charles Pendleton of Red Oak and Donald Pendleton of Phoenix, Ariz., survive her.
  Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Clara Hogan was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Corning Iowa, a 4-H leader and a willing worker in her children's many activities. Her entire life was spent as a dedicated and loving wife and mother; for this she will always be remembered.
  Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 10 a.m., August 28, 1974. Father Lloyd J. Connolly conducted the services. Jamie Hogan, John Peterson and Ricardo Avila served as altar boys. Priscilla Hogan was lector and read a poem written by Clara's mother entitled "Mother's Prayer."
  Pallbearers were Donald Hogan, Art Schweers, Leo Ryan, Oscar Lynam, Jim King and Don Lovely.
  Rosary was recited at the Roland Funeral Home in Corning, Iowa on Wednesday night, August 27, 1974.
