Elizabeth Cecilia Hogan
Elizabeth was born in Mexico, Mo., October 26, 1890, and
passed away in Rosary hospital, October 22, 1952, at 7:35 in the
evening. Death followed an illness of several years.
She was the daughter of Thomas and Catherine Hogan, who, with
five of the nine children, preceded her in death. The brothers and
sisters were: Gus, Frank, Will, Mary and Margaret. Surviving member of
her family are: Sister M. Rosalia of the Sisters of Humility, Davenport,
Ia., Theresa Hogan, Detroit, Mich., Dr. Jos. K. Hogan, Giddings, Tex.
When three years of age, Elizabeth came with the family to Adams county,
which had been her home until the day of her death.
Funeral services were held in St. Patrick's church in Corning.
Requiem Mass was sung by Rev. Father M. J. Powers. Mrs. John Lenz and
Miss Theresa Curry assisted with the organ and vocal accompaniments.
Burial was in Calvary cemetery, with pall bearers Jim Tracy, Jim
Keefe, La Vern Smith, La Verne Fife, Dean Leonard and Bill Sullivan.
Elizabeth lived a life of retirement, because of frail health,
but her outlook on life was cheerful, and she was devoted to her family
and her friends. Many will long remember her for her integrity and her loyalties.

Ia.; Mrs. Dan Welty, Danbury, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. William Collins,
Mapleton, Ia.; Mrs. D. P. Hogan, Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Tom Flannagan,
Omaha, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Pete Curry and Jack of Red Oak, Ia.
