Hugh E. Hogan
Hugh E. Hogan was born December 22, 1901 at Massena, Iowa and
passed away at the Murphy Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, September 24,
1974, following a massive heart attack.
Mr. Hogan is survived by his wife, Julia; a brother, Vincent and
family of Loveland, Colo., nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
During his active life he was interested in church work, and many
community projects, some of the more recent ones being the Production
Credit Assn., Adams County R.E.A., Grundman Insurance Co. and the
Corning and Villisca Telephone Companies.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., September 26, at St.
Joseph's Catholic Church in Villisca. Rev. Nelo Leto was celebrant at
the Requiem funeral mass, assisted by Rev. Lloyd Connolly of .Corning.
Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Corning, Iowa.
Miss Sheila Fryer was soloist and Miss Marty Kernon, accompanist.
Honorary casketbearers were Bill Kelly, Gene Mullin, Glen Van Houten,
Ivan Heaton, Harry .Grundman and Lloyd Leonard. Casketbearers were
Robert Brown, Gary Refer, Bob Wheeler, Gail Nelson, Edward Hoyt and
Gerald Skahill. Ushers were Raymond Sands and Edward Beeson.
