Bertha Horan, 80, Matherville, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1987
at Georgetown Manor Nursing Home, Aledo.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine's Catholic
Church, Aledo. Rev. Leo McKenna, pastor officiated. Burial was in St.
Joseph Cemetery, Matherville.
Bertha Knight was born Sept. 10, 1906, in Richland, MO, a
daughter of George and Ann Barnaby Knight. She attended Southwestern
Teacher's College, Springfield, MO. She married Martin Horan, May 20,
1933, in Moore, MT. He died in 1981.
She taught school from 1927 until 1933 in Straw, MT.
She moved to Illinois in 1936, where her husband farmed until he
retired in 1978.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Jim Horan, Billings, MT; a
grandchild; and two brothers, Arthur Knight of Grant City, MO and T.F.
Knight of Marionville, MO.
