Mrs. C. C. Houlihan

  Funeral services for Mrs. C. C. Houlihan were held from St Rose of Lima church Monday, Feb 18. Rev. Father Cooper of Vail celebrated the requiem high mass. During the services Louis Malloy and Robert Deiter sang.
  Agnes Rose Meehan, a member of one of Crawford's pioneer families, was born April 12, 1872 to Michael and Hannah (Ayers) Meehan in Milan, Ill, and died at her home in Denison Feb 16.
  She came to Iowa with her parents in 1881 and located at Manilla. She received her education in the public schools of Crawford county, later graduating from the Denison Normal and Business college, From that time until her marriage she followed the profession of teaching.
  May 1, 1901 she was married to C. C. Houlihan of Charter Oak who preceded her in death Nov 17, 1937. They farmed near Charter Oak for a time, later moving to a farm west of Denison.
  To this union four children were born, all of whom survive: Dr. T. M. Houlihan of Ida Grove, Mrs. Ray Malloy of Denison, Dr. F. W. Houlihan of Ackley and Florence Houlihan of Denison. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Meehan and the following brothers and sisters: T. R. Meehan of Friend, Neb., a former sheriff of Crawford county, Mrs. P. J. Hanrahan of Hillsboro, N.D., J. J. Meehan, Mrs. T. A. Hickey, Mrs. P. J. Lally, Anne and Mary Meehan of Manilla.
  Pallbearers were Edward Houston, Edward Houlihan, Joe Lally, Harold Heddermann, Earl Hickey and Joe Hanrahan. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery here.
