Emery Howe Funeral Held Thursday
Funeral services for Emery Howe, 58, were held at the home
Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. John T. Shields of the Aledo
Catholic church, officiating. Mrs. J. E. Constant and Mrs. Carl Sandberg
sang two selections. Pallbearers were: C. M. Boggs, Richard Boggs, E. E.
South, Howard Sterrett, B. B. Henry and A. D. Greer. Burial was in St.
Mary's cemetery, Keithsburg.
Mr. Howe died suddenly at his home in Seaton at 3:30 o'clock
Tuesday morning. An acute attack of a heart ailment from which he had
been suffering for some time occurred at 2:30, followed in an hour by his death.
Mr. Howe was born at Aledo, April 2, 1884, a son of Otis and
Belle Jackson Howe. After coming to Seaton 35 years ago he worked for a
time in a hardware store with the exception of a brief period in
Abingdon and Keithsburg as a plumber. He engaged in the interior and
exterior decorating business 15 years ago.
He was married Sept. 5, 1917 to Miss Mabel Callahan of Seaton in
Keithsburg, who survives; and a foster daughter, Patricia Jean Welch at
home and a sister Miss Avis Howe at East Moline.
