| Services Pending At Viola for Robert Howie, 50
Robert Howie, 50, of Viola died at 9:30 a.m. today, Wednesday,
March 11, 1964 at the Mercer County hospital. Funeral arrangements are
pending at the Crummy Funeral home in Viola.
Mr. Howie was born May 27, 1913 at Benld, Ill., the son of Peter
and Eleanor Bienkinsopp Howie. He was educated in Gilchrist and Viola
schools. His marriage to Florence Huff took place June 23, 1936 in Davenport.
Mr. Howie had been employed at the Hydraulic Press Brick Co., at
Shale City for 30 years. He was a member of the Viola Methodist church
and a member of the Viola Volunteer Firemen.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Raymond of Rock Island,
Larry and James at home; two grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Eleanor
Howie of Aledo; two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Lingafelter of Rock Island and
Mrs. Margaret Persig of Aurora.
He was preceded in death by his father, one daughter, Judy, and two brothers.
