Mass of the Christian burial for Cletus John "Clete"
Irlmeier of Carroll will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at Holy
Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll.
Mr. Irlmeier, 84, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, at St. Anthony Regional
Hospital in Carroll.
The Rev. Timothy Johnson will preside at the Mass. Lectors will
be Alan Loew and Judy Bauer. Gift bearers will be Mr. Irlmeier's
grandchildren: Michael Sack and Emily Rodino.
Casket bearers will be Stan Kerkhoff, Dale Kerkhoff, Tom Simons,
Gerald Hahn, Monty Irlmeier, Alan Kraus, Steve Irlmeier and Jerry Loew.
The casket will be moved to the church at 8 a.m.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery at Carroll.
Visitation started at 3 and the Carroll Knights of Columbus led a
rosary at 4 this afternoon at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in
Carroll. Holy Spirit Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7
tonight at the funeral home.
A son of Joseph and Anna (Feilmeier) Irlmeier, he was born May 9,
1925, at Templeton and grew up and attended school there.
He and Dolores Simons were married in January 1949 at Sts. Peter
and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll.
The Irlmeiers farmed southeast of Carroll.
Mr. Irlmeier was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and fourth-degree
member of the Carroll Knights of Columbus, and he enjoyed playing cards
and bingo, dancing and polka music.
Survivors include two daughters: Mary Sack of Bakersfield,
Calif., and Ann Rodino and husband Robert of Bakersfield; two
grandchildren: Michael Sack and Emily Rodino; a sister, Irene Kraus, and
her husband, Al, of Maple River; two brothers: Don Irlmeier, and wife
Kathleen of Audubon and Merlin "Mox" Irlmeier and wife Anna
Mae of Templeton; five sisters-in-law: Evelyn Kerkhoff of Templeton,
Catherine Zimmer of Carroll, Rita Simons of Carroll, Toni Irlmeier of
Carroll and Dorothy Irlmeier of Santa Paula, Calif.; and his close
friend and caregiver, Susan Sack, of Carroll.
Mr. Irlmeier was preceded in death by his parents; his wife,
Dolores, in 1972; four brothers: Joe "Stoogie," Alex, Leo and
Leonard; three sisters: Ann Irlbeck, Jean Brosnahan and Dorothy Crowdes;
and a son-in-law, Roy Sack.
