Leo Irlmeier
Manning - Leo Irlmeier, 64, of Manning, died Saturday, Jan.
31, at his home here.
Rite of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Sacred Heart church with Msgr. Dean Walker
officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews: Keith, Steve, John, Duane, Dave and
Jim Irlmeier.
Surviving are his wife Lucy; the following children: Mrs. Joseph
(Judy) Merickel, Alexandria, Minn.; Mrs. Milton (Joyce) Albers, St.
Louis Park, Minn.; Mrs. Lawrence (Jane) Chavez, Jr., Pinetop, Ariz.;
Mrs. Ron (Joleen) Wess, Omaha; SFC Lynn Irlmeier, Fort Richardson,
Anchorage, Alaska; Mrs. Richard (Sue) Bogatz, Omaha;.Mrs. Steve (Roxie)
Stempel, Omaha; Jeffrey Irlmeier, Ames; 13 grandchildren; his father
Joseph Irlmeier, Carroll Health Center; four sisters: Mrs. Ambrose (Ann)
Irlbeck, Dedham; Mrs. Al (Irene) Kraus, Breda; Mrs. Ed (Jean) Brosnahan,
Denison; Mrs. Bob (Dorothy) Crowdes, Winterset; six brothers: Joe F.,
Dedham; Merlin J., Templeton; Donald, Audubon; Wilfred and Cletus J.,
Carroll, and Leonard, California.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother Alex. Mr.
Irlmeier was born Aug. 18, 1916, at Templeton, a son of Joseph and Anna
Fielmeier Irlmeier. He was married Sept. 10, 1940, to Lucy Eich. They
farmed in Iowa and near Wadena, Minn. Later he operated the L & L
Tap at Manning, retiring about five years ago because of ill health.
