Jackson, Dr. Mildred

Dr. Mildred "Jackie" Jackson, 90, of Evanston. Preceded in death by her beloved mother Tillie, infant brother and father H.T. Jackson, a Methodist Minister and Teacher for many years in the Monmouth, IL. area. She was also preceded in death by John "Jack" W. Readeker, Doris A. Readeker and Ward J. Readeker; survived by her adopted family Lynda (John) Readeker Boyd, their children John C. Boyd, Kristen K. (Craig) Hannay, Ward W. Bones and greatgrandchildren Melissa Lynn and Abby Ives Hannay. Dr. Jackson graduated Sum Cum Laude from Monmouth College in 1936 and from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1940. She established a Pediatric Practice on the Northside of Chicago. Dr. Jackson was in practice for over 50 years and retired when she reached her 80th birthday. Dr. Jackson enjoyed gardening, her dog Skipper and each of her convertibles. She was fun loving and generous to those she loved among them Dr. Gene and Joan Hollingsworth, Adela Mikucki Shay, Mark Mikucki, Dee Fletcher, Martha Billish and the family of Cleo Fowler. She valued the unwavering support and kindness especially in her later years of Earl Anderson, Dorothy Bowden and her physician Dr. Paul Ringel. Visitation at Simkins Funeral Home, 6251 Dempster Street, Morton Grove, Tuesday 3 p.m. until time of service 7 p.m. Interment private.
