Obituary

DAVENPORT -- Lawrence F. Jasper, Davenport, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at his home. There will be no services. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Lions Club. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements. Lawrence was born December 10, 1906, in Moline, to Henry August and Anna Wilhelmine Meier Jasper. He married Esteline M. Haney June 25, 1931,in Aledo, Ill. She died June 29, 1984. He was an owner and butcher of Jasper Meat Inc. Davenport for 60 years, retiring in 1970. He enjoyed his family and his work. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Kosary and her husband Joseph, Tyler, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law; Larry Jasper and his wife Ruthellen, Miami, Fla.; Michael Jasper and his wife Donna, Davenport; David Jasper M.D. and his wife Irene, Omaha, Neb.; 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, LeRoy Jasper.
