| John Juras
John A. Juras, age 76, of Sherrard died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1987
at his residence. Visitation was Tuesday afternoon and evening at the
Jinks Funeral Home in Viola. A rosary service was held at the
visitation. Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic
Church in Matherville. Father Ed Harkrader officiated.
Burial was in the St. John's Cemetery in Viola. Memorials may be
made to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Juras was born July 12, 1911 in Matherville, the son of Matt
and Teresa Grubisic Juras. He was educated in Matherville and later
married Winifred Smith on April 6, 1940 in Aledo.
He was formerly a farmer and construction worker, retiring in
1973. Mr. Juras was also a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church
in Matherville, the Croatian Fraternal Union, and the Matherville Eagles
No. 2019.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John of Sherrard and Fred
of Tolono, IL; and three grandchildren.
