Matthew Juras Funeral Services Held This Morning
Funeral services for Matthew Juras, 81 of near Sherrard, were
held at 830 a.m. today, Wednesday, at the Crummy Funeral Home in Viola
and at 9 a.m. from St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Matherville. Burial
was in St. John's Cemetery, Viola.
Mr. Juras, a retired coal miner, died Monday, April 25, 1966, at
Galesburg Research Hospital where he had been a patient for more than
two years.
He was born in Yugoslavia and came to the United States at the
age of 17. He worked as a coal miner at Gilchrist.
On Sept. 1, 1910, he married Teresa Kovachevich in Canton, Ill.
She preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, John, of rural Sherrard; eight grandchildren
and a brother, George Juras, in Rumania.
