Mrs. Earl (Marilyn) Kanne
Lidderdale - Mrs. Earl (Marilyn) Kane, 47, of Lidderdale, died
at 6:25 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in
Carroll. She was a former employe of General Electric in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday,
Jan. 29, at Holy Family church in Lidderdale with the Rev. Eugene
Ceperly officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gene Wiederin, Al Ausman, Kenny Huegerich, Joe
Kennebeck, Frank Hacker and Larry Daniel.
Mass servers will be nephews jerry Wernimont and Jeff and Les
Schleisman. Lyle Schleisman will be lector and Tricia and Mary Schulte
will be gift-bearers.
Visitation at the Twit Funeral Home in Carroll was on Monday. A
student prayer service was scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Monday by the Holy
Family Rosary Society, and at 8 and 8:45 p.m. Monday.
Surviving arc her husband, Karl; a son. John, Lidderdale; seven
daughters: Diane, Marshalltown; Mrs. Dale (Janice) Sporrer, Dedham; Mrs.
Donovan (Nancy) Stanzyk Jr ., Lidderdale; Mrs. Randy (Delynne) Kroeger,
Udderdale; Kathy, Donna and Kris, at home; two brothers: Cyril Schulte,
Carroll, and Herald Schulte, Marshalltown. and three sisters: Mrs. Omer
(Grace) Langenfeld, Carroll; Mrs. Jack (Gloria) Grimsman, Carroll, and
Mrs. Evelyn Goecke. San Diego, Calif., and six grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents and three brothers: Raymond,
Vincent and Bernard.
Mrs. Kane was born Jan. 31, 1933, at Wynot, Neb. a daughter of
Henry and Maude C. Gassman Schulte. She was married Sept. 5, 1950, to
Earl Kanne at SS. Peter and Paul church in Carroll by the Most Rev.
Frank H. Greteman. D.D.
After their marriage, the couple moved to a parent's farm where
they farmed for 10 years. Later they moved to Carroll where Mr. Kanne
was employed for 14 years at the Farm and Home Store. After he left that
employment, they moved to the Lidderdale area. Mrs. Kanne was employed
by the General Electric Co. in Carroll for a year and a half before her illness.
Mrs. Kanne graduated from St.Angela Academy in 1949. She was a
member of Holy Family church and of its Rosary Society.
