Obituary

  The death of Mrs. James J. Keefe, Wednesday evening brought sorrow to a devoted family and a large group of friends who had watch anxiously for the past few months Mrs. Keefe's failing health. Three weeks ago her condition was considered serious but she had rallied and was able to enjoy her family and friends until shortly before her death. Funeral services were held Friday morning at 9:30 a. m. from the St. Patrick's Catholic church of which she was a faithful member. Rev. Fr. M. J. Powers celebrated the mass. Interment was in Calvary cemetery. The pall bearers were two sons, Francis W. Keefe and James B. Keefe; three sons-in-law's Raymond Keller, James Greenwood and Linus Moore; and one nephew, John Keefe.
  Mary Conroy, daughter of Patrick and Nora Conroy, was born March 25, 1867 in Kahir, Kilmaine County of Mayo, Ireland. She came to America at the age of 22 years. She was married to James J. Keefe, October 11, 1892. She was 66 years, 7 months and 27 days old at the time of her death.
  Mrs. Keefe is survived by her husband, five daughters and two sons. The daughters are Mrs. Johanna Walsh, of Wymore, Nebr.; Mrs. Elizabeth Keller of Dubuque, Ia.; Mrs. Nora Greenwood, of Farley, Ia.; Mrs. Teresa Moore, Mt. Etna, Ia.; and Bernice Keefe, at home. The sons are Francis W. Keefe of Omaha and James B. Keefe, at home. She is also survived by three brothers who reside in Ireland and eight grand children. One daughter, Sister Mary Pauline Keefe, who was a member of the Sisters of Holy Humility of Mary, Ottumwa, Ia., preceded her in death in 1913.
  Mrs. Keefe was a great home lover and lived for those she loved.
