Services Held Today For John W. Kelleher
John Wilford Kelleher, 66, of Route 4, Aledo, died at his home
Sunday afternoon, Dec. 6, 1964.
Funeral services were held at the Crummy Funeral Home in Reynolds
at 8:15 today, Wednesday and at 9 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in
Milan. The Rev. John Callahan, pastor, officiated and burial was in
Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.
Mr. Kelleher was born Aug. 2, 1898, near Reynolds, a son of
Thomas and Margaret Shea Kelleher. He was educated in Reynolds schools
and attended St. Ambrose College in Davenport.
He married Mable Curry, May 23, 1923, in Edgington, and was a
retired farmer.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Edgington and of the
Holy Name Society of the church.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, Thomas of Rock Island and
Leo of Dubuque, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. William Peterson of Aurora and
Mrs. Dale Docherty of Buffalo Prairie; seven grandchildren; three
sisters, Mrs. Vincent Daniels of Davenport; Miss Gertrude Kelleher of
Milan and Mrs. Charles McManus of near Aledo; a brother, Edward of
Milan, and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a grandson.
