Services Held at Woodhull for Louis P. Kness
Louis Paul Kness, 54, died at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 27, 1963, in his
farm home southwest of Woodhull.
Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday, at St. Johns'
Catholic Church in Woodhull, of which he was a member, and burial was in
St. John's Cemetery, Viola. The rosary was recited Sunday night, at the
Peterson-Wallin-Knox Chapel in Woodhull.
Mr. Kness was born in the farm home, north of Viola, July 17,
1909, a son of John and Louise Brock Kness. He attended rural and Viola
Schools, and graduated from Viola High School, with the class of 1927.
He farmed in the New Windsor community and was manager of the
Rivoli Farmers Grain Company, for a few years. He then moved to his
present farm home near Woodhull. At the time of his death, he was
secretary of the Farmers Grain and Supply Company of Viola. He also was
a member of the Rivoli Gun Club of New Windsor.
Surviving are three sons, Donald of Galesburg, Louis Patrick,
Pawnee and Gary, of Woodhull, a daughter, Mary Lou Jennings of Avon,
five brothers: his twin brother Leo of New Windsor, John and Vincent,
both of Viola, Martin and Matthew (twins) of Rock Island and East
Moline; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Lindquist of Aledo.

Roman Catholic Church in Woodhull. Burial will be in St. John's
Cemetery, Viola. The Rosary will be recited tomorrow night at the
Peterson-Wallin-Knox Chapel in Woodhull, where friends may call.
Mr. Kness was born July 17, 1909, at Viola, a son of John and
Louise Brock Kness. He was graduated from Viola High School and had
farmed in the New Windsor and Woodhull communities. He was a member of
St. John's Church and the Rivoli Gun Club of New Windsor.
Surviving are three sons, Donald of Galesburg, Louis Patrick,
Pawnee and Gary, of Alpha; a daughter, Mrs. William Jennings of Avon; a
number of John and Vincent, both of Viola, Leo of New Windsor, Martin of
Rio and Matthew of East Moline, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Lindquist of Aledo.
