Vincent Kness
Viola - Vincent Joseph Kness, 77, Route 1, Viola, died this
morning at St. Luke's Hospital in Davenport after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 10 Saturday morning at St. John's
Roman Catholic Church, Viola, with the Rev. Edward Harkrader, pastor,
officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Viola. Friends may
call from 7 to 9 Friday night at the Reiser Funeral Home, Aledo, where a
rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Mr. Kness was born May 24, 1903, in Greene Township near Viola, a
son of John and Louisa Brock Kness. He attended rural schools in Greene Township.
He had been the farm operator and manager for many years at the
Dixon sisters' farm in Greene Township.
He was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving are three brothers, John M. Kness of Viola, Leo of New
Windsor and Martin of Rock Island and a sister, Mrs. Mary Lindquist of Aledo.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
