Joseph A. Krebsbach
Funeral services were held Monday morning, from St. Patrick's
Catholic church in Corning, for the late Joseph Krebsbach, who died
Friday, October 14, in Mercy hospital in Omaha. Mr. Krebsbach had been
taken to the hospital in serious condition Thursday morning and had
expected to undergo an operation to relieve his condition Friday
morning, but death claimed him before the operation was performed. Rev.
Father M. J. Powers was in charge of the services Monday morning.
Interment was made in Calvary cemetery.
Joseph Krebsbach, son of Nicholas and Margaret Krebsbach, was
born February 22, 1878, at Peoria, Ill. He came to Iowa and located in
Carl township of Adams county with his parents in the year of 1882 and
has resided in the township since that time. His mother and father
preceded him in heath, his mother in 1915 and his father in February of
1932. He is survived by his three sisters, Ellen K. Miller of Parnell,
Iowa, Mary (Mrs. J. P.) Miller, east of Prescott, and Mrs. J. D. Hatton
northeast of Corning; and two brothers, Nicholas and Peter, who reside
on the home place which had been the home place which had been the home
of the deceased for many years.
Mr. Krebsbach spent his life farming and was respected and
honored by his neighbors and friends as a gentleman of fine principles
and unquestioned integrity. He had been ill for some time but was able
to be up in his chair the day he was taken to the hospital. His death
brought deepest sorrow to his many friends and his devoted family. He
was a member of the Corning St. Patrick church and was always loyal to
his faith. His two brothers and four nephews acted as pall bearers.
Marjorie Miller of Ottumwa, a daughter of Mrs. Ellen K. Miller,
accompanied her mother to Corning to attend the funeral of his uncle.
