Obituary

It was with great sorrow and regret we learned of the death of August Krogman, one of Halbur's most popular and industrious citizens. He had been ill but a short time with the flu which developed into pneumonia causing his death. He maintained his cheerful and pleasant disposition during his entire illness and will be greatly missed. All who knew August Krogman will remember him as a lover and server of humanity, who did whatever duty came to him to the best of his ability. He was born October 8, 1986, on a farm near Halbur. He wan united in marriage on June 3, 1913, at Breda and to this union were born four children all of whom survive with their mother. He was in the prime of life and of a strong and rugged constitution, and his untimely death is a sad blow to the bereaved wife and children in their hour of sadness and sorrow, and our heart goes out to them to console them. Funeral services were held Friday from St. Augustine's church, Father Schillmoeller officiating, owing to the weakened condition of Mrs. Krogman who was also afflicted with the flu, she was unable to be present at the services of her beloved helpmate. The grief stricken family has the heartfelt sympathy of all the people in the little village of Halbur and its surrounding neighbors. May his soul rest in peace.
