Halbur - Helen Krogman of Halbur died Tuesday, February 1, at
the Carroll Health Center. Arrangements are pending at the Sharp Funeral
Home in Carroll.

Halbur - Mass of the Christian Burial for Helen Krogman, 89,
of Halbur, who died at the Carroll Health Center Nursing Home Tuesday
evening, February 1, will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February
5, at St. Augustine church in Halbur with the Rev. Leo Riesberg as celebrant.
A grandson, Alvin Mueggenberg, will be lector and grandchildren
Leonard Siepker and Esther Pedalty will be giftbearers. Burial will be
in the parish cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be grandsons David
and Donald Siepker, Wayne and John Eich and Kenneth and Mark Mueggenberg.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30
p.m. Friday. Rosaries will be recited at the funeral home at 3 p.m. by
the St. Augustine Ladies Guild and at 8:45 p.m. A scriptural prayer
service will be conducted at 8 p.m. by the parish. Mrs. Krogman is
survived by three daughters: Marie Eich, Carroll; Mrs. Nick (Hilaria)
Siepker, Fonda, and Mrs. Gerd (Evelyn) Mueggenberg, Breda; 26
grandchildren and 83 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Peter, Wilmot,
Minn.; Paul, Fulda, Minn.; Ted, Adrian, Minn., and Lawrence Heinrichs,
Halbur, and a sister, Lucille Nepple, Carroll.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son
Ferdinand, a grandchild, a great-grandchild and four brothers: Herman,
Frank, Lou and Alphonse.
Mrs. Krogman was born October 8, 1893, at Breda, a daughter of
Theodore and Mary Fehring Heinrichs. She spent her early years in the
Breda area and attended St. Bernard school.
On June 3, 1913, she was married to August Krogman at St. Bernard
church in Breda by the Rev. Edgar Schleyer. After their marriage, they
farmed southeast of Halbur. He died in February of 1920 and she
continued to live on the farm until 1941 when she moved into Halbur. She
had been a resident of the Carroll nursing home since 1977. She was a
member of St. Augustine parish and the Ladies Guild.
