Louis Laughlin
Louis R. Laughlin, 78, of Keithsburg died Monday, Aug. 2,
2004, at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church,
Keithsburg, where he was a member. Burial is in St. Mary's Catholic
Cemetery, Monmouth. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at Dennison Funeral
Home, Aledo, with a prayer service at 7:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to
St. Mary's Catholic Church or Keithsburg Volunteer Fire Department.
He was born May 12, 1926, in Alexis, son of James and Elizabeth Baldwin
Laughlin. He married Norma Willits March 29, 1948, at St. Mary's
Catholic Church, Keithsburg.
He farmed in the New Boston and Alexis areas. He then worked at
John Deere Plow Planter, retiring in 1987. Following retirement, he
worked part time at Cannon Bronze, Keithsburg.
He was a former member of the Keithsburg Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife, Norma Laughlin, Keithsburg; son and
daughter-in-law, Jim and Robin Laughlin, Keithsburg; grandchildren, Mike
and Lisa Laughlin, Jamie and Sarah Laughlin and Ashley Mitchell;
great-grandchildren, Sidney and Emily Laughlin; stepgrandchildren, David
and Renee Martin and Kacey Martin; stepgreat-grandchildren, Brittany and
Melanie Crocker, Savannah Martin and Danielle Nelson; sister, Dolores
Lange, Chicago; mother-in-law, Vantana Willits, New Boston; several
nieces and nephews.
