Lillian A. LeVake, 84
Lillian A. LeVake, 84, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at
Grinnell Regional Medical Cemter.
Her funeral service was held Saturday, June 16, at Watts Funeral
Home, Montezuma. Burial followed at Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma.
Lillian Agnes LeVake, the daughter of John and Agnes Larson
Wiley, was born Feb. 16, 1923, at Malcom. She attended Malcom and
Grinnell schools.
On June 24, 1942, Lillian was united in marriage with Thomas
LeVake at Kirksville, Mo. Lillian devoted her life to her husband and
family. She had worked as a bookkeeper at the Eastwood State Bank,
Rochester, Minn. Following Tom's death in 1985, Lillian moved to
Grinnell. She enjoyed collecting thimbles, sewing, painting, quilting,
crocheting and making prayer shawls. She was a member of the Grinnell
United Methodist Church where she had been on the executive board, the
United Methodist Women, the Heritage travel club and had volunteered for
the Grinnell Regional Medical Center and R.S.V.P.
Those left to honor Lillian's memory include her son and
daughter-in-law, Michael and Marcia LeVake of West Allis, Wis.; her
daughter-in-law, Chris LeVake of Loveland, Colo.; her four
grandchildren, Pamela, Mark, Derrick and Kealoha; and her six
great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Grace, Gabriel, Lillian and Corey; her
sister, Doris and Mike Hotchkin of Grinnell, her brothers, Garland and
Colleen Wiley of New Sharon; Lyle and Doris Wiley of Grinnell; Wayne and
Evelyn Wiley of Grinnell and her sister-in-law, Jeanette Wiley of Montezuma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; a son, Thomas
John; a brother, Russell, and a sister Fern Beyers.
Memorial contributions may be designated to the American Heart
Association or the American Cancer Society and may be left at Watts
Funeral Home.
