Mary A. Lindquist
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Lindquist, 84, of Route 3,
Aledo, were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Reiser-Trimble
Funeral Home, Aledo, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic
Church, Aledo. The Rev. Leo J. McKenna, pastor, officiated. Burial was
in St. John's Cemetery, Viola.
Memorials were made to the Mercer County Unit of the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Lindquist died Sunday, March, 10, 1985 at 6:20 p.m. at Georgetown
Manor Nursing Home, Aledo.
Mrs. Lindquist was born Sept. 7, 1900 in Wanlock, IL, the
daughter of John and Elizabeth Brock Kness.
She married Oscar Fred Lindquist Jan. 6, 1926 in Viola. He died Nov. 20, 1964.
She and her husband had farmed in Perryton Township for more than
50 years. She also had served as housekeeper for the Warwick family and
several other Aledo area families. She had also worked as cook at the
Perryton School and at the Mercer County Nursing Home.
She was a member of St. Catherine's Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include two sons, Robert J. Lindquist, Aledo and
William F. Lindquist, Fairfax, VA; six grandchildren; and two brothers,
John M. Kness, Aledo, and Martin R. Kness, Rock Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and four
brothers.
