A daughter of Lester Warren and Neola Wealthy (Reynolds) Potter,
she was born Dec. 31, 1920, at her parent's home in rural Audubon
County. She attended rural schools in Audubon County, then worked for other families.
She was baptized May 15, 1977, at the Christian Church in Audubon.
On Nov. 23, 1938, she married Lyle Willis Linn at the Christian
Church Parsonage in Audubon. The couple lived on several different
farms, then in 1949, they moved next to the school in Viola. She and her
husband boarded schoolteachers in their home for many years. Also during
this time, she was employed as a cook at the Viola School. They lived in
Viola until the Viola School closed, moving into Audubon in 1976. There,
she worked as a part-time cook for the Audubon Schools for several
years, then returned to being a homemaker.
Lyle died Jan. 20, 2000, and Mrs. Linn remained in her home,
traveling to Florida to spend the winters with her sons. She later lived
with her daughter, Charlotte, for a short time before moving to St.
Anthony Nursing Home in May of 2007.
She was a member of the Christian Church in Audubon, until the
church closed, at which time she became a member of the Church of Christ
