Marian Looser
Marian J. Looser, 85, of Aledo, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at
the Aledo Rehab and Health Center.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo,
with the Rev. John Crede officiating. Burial is in New Boston Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Online

She was born Aug. 15, 1920, in New Boston Township, a daughter of
Howard and Pearl Anderson Bridger. She attended the Pleasant View School
in New Boston and graduated from New Boston High School and the
University of Illinois. She married Robert W. Looser Sept. 16, 1942, in
Keokuk, Iowa. He died Jan. 1, 1991.
Marian was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the operation
of the family farm in Eliza Township, retiring in 1974 and moving to
Aledo in 1976.
She was a member of the National Wildlife Federation, University
of Illinois Alumni Association and the World Wildlife Foundation.
She enjoyed bird watching, bingo and traveling, having been to
Africa, Australia and to the Vatican in Rome where she met Pope John
Paul II. She saw polar bears on Lake Hudson and whale watched in the Northwest.
She is survived by one sister, Roberta Polesky, Aledo; two
brothers, George W. (wife, June) Bridger, New Boston, John (wife, Judy)
Bridger, Viola; two nieces, Susan Lhof and Tangela Viner; seven nephews,
Jim Polesky, Jon, Bill and Tim Esp, Jim, Bill and Dwight Bridger; and
several great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband; one brother, Howard Bridger; two sisters, Lorraine
Bridger and Virginia Esp; and a brother-in-law, Joseph T. Polesky.
