James F. Lowe … Iowa Avenue in Washington died very
unexpectedly Tuesday, March 30, 1976 at the Washington County Hospital.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Sherman-Eden Funeral Home
with the Rev. Bruce Klapp in charge. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Lowe was born March 19, 1901 at Hayes City, Kansas, a son of
James (Mac) and Della Hiller Lowe. He was reared east of Brighton and
married her Sept. 8, 1950 to Dorthea Gertrude Swift.
He was a retired farmer, had been a member of the Knights of
Pythias, and had served in the National Guard. Mrs. Lowe died in 1951.
Surviving are one son, Raleigh of Washington; three
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Virgil
(Gladys) Earll of Washington; one brother Bert E. Lowe of Goleta, Calif.
His parents and an infant daughter preceded him in death.
