Mrs. Dale Lucas
Funeral services for Mrs. Dale Berfield Lucas, 68, Matherville,
were held at 9:30 a.m. at the Crummy Funeral Home, Viola, and at 10 a.m.
in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Matherville. The Rev. Denis
Scot, pastor of St. Anthony's officiated and burial was in St. Joseph's
Cemetery in Preemption, township.
Mrs. Lucas died at 6:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, in Moline Public
Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born April 23, 1908, in Clinton, Ia., and attended
schools in Waterloo and Rock island.
On Nov. 26, 1924, she was married to Mr. Lucas in St. Joseph's
Roman Catholic Church, Preemption township. The couple lived in Rock
Island until 1945, where she was employed by the Servus Rubber Co. for 17 years.
In 1945, Mr. and Mrs. Lucas moved to Rt. 1, Aledo, where they
lived until moving to Matherville in 1973.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church and its
Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are the widower and a sister, Mrs. Harriett Lutz of Rock Island.
Preceding her in death were two brothers and a sister.
