Mrs. Mabel Lucas Dies Of Pneumonia

  Mrs. Mabel Edna Lucas, 61, wife of Francis Lucas, residing two-and-a-half miles east of Preemption, died of pneumonia at 2:05 o'clock this morning in St. Anthony's hospital. She had been seriously ill since last Wednesday, when she was taken to the hospital.
  The body was taken to the Wheelan funeral home, Rock Island. It will be removed to the residence this afternoon. The rosary will be recited in the home at 8 o'clock tonight and at the same time tomorrow.
  Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock in the residence and at 9:30 in St. Joseph's Catholic church, four miles southwest of Preemption. The Rev. John Shields of Aledo, Ill., will officiate. She was a member of St. Joseph's church near Preemption.
  Survivors are the widower; four sons, Dale of Rock Island, Lawrence of Peoria, Ill., Scott of Taylor Ridge, Ill., and Raphael, at home; three grandchildren, and a sister, Miss Vivian Gross of Rock Island. A daughter, Frances, died in infancy, and a brother also preceded her in death.

Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Francis Lucas

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Edna Lucas, 61, wife of Francis Lucas, of two-and-a-half miles east of Preemption, who died of pneumonia Monday, were held this morning at 9 o'clock in the residence and at 9:30 in St. Joseph's Catholic church, four miles southwest of Preemption. The Rev. John Shields of Aledo, Ill., officiated, and burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
  Pallbearers were Glenn Crawford, Guy Boyles, Edward Hicks, Marlon Brown, Burt Horn and Michael Mack.
