R.G. "Pete" Lucas
Funeral services for Raphael Gordon "Pete" Lucas,
56, Clinton, formerly of Preemption, were held at 10 a.m. Monday in the
Crummy Funeral Home, Viola. The Rev. Denis Scott, pastor of St. John's
Roman Catholic Church, Viola, officiated and burial was in St. Joseph's
Cemetery in Preemption township.
Mr. Lucas died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at the Jane Lamb
Hospital in Clinton after a short illness.
A son of Frank and Mabel Gross Lucas, he was born March 12, 1919,
in Preemption Township. He was educated in Union School.
He was of Roman Catholic faith and served in the US Army in World
War II in the Aleutian Islands. He was a construction laborer.
Surviving are two brothers, Dale of Matherville and Scott of
Aledo.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother and an infant
sister.
