Scott Lucas

  Funeral services for Scott S. Lucas, 68, of 720 SW 2nd Ave., Aledo, formerly of Preemption Township, were held Saturday, Feb. 18 at 10:15 a.m. at the Reiser-Trimble Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo. The Rev. Leo J. McKenna, Pastor, officiated. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Viola.
  Memorials were made to St. Catherine's Catholic Church.
Mr. Lucas died Thursday, Feb. 16 at 5:39 a.m. at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.
  Scott Stephen Lucas was born March 27, 1915 in Preemption Township, the son of Frank and Mabel Gross Lucas. He married Essie E. Curry May 4, 1935 in Peoria.
  He was a lifelong farmer in Preemption Township until his retirement in 1979 when he moved to Aledo.
  From 1936 to 1948 he was employed at the John Deere Parts Depot and later at the Eagle Warehouse, Milan.
  He received his education in the Union Grade School, Preemption, and Matherville High School.
  He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo; the American Association of Retired Persons; and the Senior Citizens Center, Aledo.
  He is survived by his wife, Essie; a daughter, Mrs. Janet Harris of Matherville; two sons, William of Aledo and Vern Dale of Aledo; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
