| Walfred Lyon
Funeral services for Walfred J. Lyon, 90, of Illinois City, were
held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Esterdahl Mortuary, Moline. The Rev. Arno M.
Hutchinson, pastor of the Illinois City United Methodist Church
officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Moline.
Memorials were made to the church, of which he was a member, or to
the American Heart Association.
Mr. Lyon died Saturday morning, April 14 in Muscatine General Hospital.
Mr. Lyon was born Dec. 23, 1893, in Moline, the son of Andrew J.
and Maria G. Anderson Lyon. He farmed his entire life in the Illinois City
area. He was an Army veteran of World War I.
Surviving are four sisters, Esther Lyon, Edna Lyon and Ruth Lyon,
all of Illinois City and Mrs. Marie Nelson of Orion.
