Bert L. Mack
Bert L. Mack, 86, of Viola, died Saturday, July 6, 1991, at
Mercer County Hospital in Aledo.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at St John's Catholic
Church, Viola, Father Ken Przbyla officiating.
Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Viola.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Catholic Church or the
American Heart Association and left at Jinks Funeral Home, Viola.
He was born Jan 12, 1905, in Viola, the son of Thomas F. and
Margaret Ellen Noonan Mack. He married Marie Jordan Aug. 24, 1927, in
Viola. Bert and Marie were born on farms one mile apart and would have
celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this year. She died May 11, 1991.
He had been employed by Farmers Grain and Supply in Viola, retiring in
1969. Prior to that he was a hog buyer for Oscar Meyer. He was Viola
Township Supervisor in the 1970's and the mayor of Viola in the 1950's.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and a Fourth Degree
member of the Knights of Columbus. He was active in card clubs,
community affairs and senior citizen clubs.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Louise Conner of Canton and Jeanne
Mack of Cincinnati, OH; two sons, Gerald Mack of Placerville, CA and
James Mack of Wichita, KS; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Col. Thomas J.
Mack in 1969, two sisters and one brother.
Pallbearers were Jim Mack, Francis Mack, Joe Mack, Otis Mack, Don
Mack and Ray Dowsett. (1991) |
