Dan Mack

Mack, Dan 59, loving husband, father, brother and friend, born December 12, 1948, died unexpectedly of heart failure October 16, 2008.
For the last 32 years Dan has been the rock of his family and his church community - devoted to his wife, Maureen, and his beautiful children, Tom and Kate. Living out his faith by welcoming and serving others has been Dan's hallmark. While cooking salmon, steaks and even goose for family and friends, entertaining us with farm stories, or sharing his wisdom, he always blessed us with his wonderful smile.
Dan grew up in Viola, Illinois with his parents, Don and Marguerite, his three brothers and six sisters. He graduated from St. Ambrose University in 1972 and began his mortgage career as a loan officer in 1978 with Knutson Mortgage. Soon he was serving as branch manager there and later at FBS Mortgage. Dan was currently president and CEO of Mack Mortgage.
Dan enjoyed walking, biking, and sharing meals with friends. He cooked meals for college bound students through St. Philip's Patchwork Quilt Neighborhood Outreach. He was co-chair of the Families Moving Forward team at Christ the King - providing temporary shelter for homeless families. At church he cooked for and welcomed all.
Dan, and his loving and welcoming smile, will be sorely missed by his family; his siblings and outlaws, Cathy and John, Mary and Ray, Rosie and Rich, Patricia and Bill, Irene and Hugh, Mike and Brenda, Janice and Wayne, Bernie and Cathy, Robert and Pam; his inlaws, Tom, Marikay, George and Janie; his many cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren; and his countless friends and colleagues.
Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, October 25, 11:30 AM at the Church of Christ the King, 5029 Zenith Avenue South, Minneapolis. Visitation 2 hours prior to Mass. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Church of Christ the King to be used to alleviate homelessness. Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel 952-920-3996
