Dolores Mack, Crystal Lake, Ill.
Dolores "Dee" M. Mack, of Crystal Lake, Illinois, formerly
of Viola and Aledo, Illinois, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006, at
home after an extended illness. A funeral mass for Dolores Mack (nee
Harbeck) will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2006, at St.
John's Catholic Church in Viola. Visitation will be 3-5 to 6-8 p.m.
Thursday, April 6, 2006, with a Rosary at 5 p.m. at Family Funeral
Services in Milan, Illinois.
Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery in Viola. Memorials may
be made to St. John's Catholic Church.
Dolores was born June 23, 1929, in Davenport, to John and Mary
Brophy Harbeck. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in
1948. Dee married Dennis A. Mack on November 24, 1960. The couple
resided in Viola until Dennis' death on January 31, 1982. Dee continued
to live in Viola until 1991, then moved to Rock Island, back to Aledo in
1994, and then in 1999 to the Fountains Retirement Center in Crystal Lake.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church where she was a
member of the Altar Society and also taught CCD for nine years.
Survivors include daughters, Joyce (Charles) Stenzel, of
Arlington Heights, Ill., and Linda (Robert) Herman, of Cary, Ill.; and
sons, James (Paula) Mack, of Meadville, Pa., Thomas (Jennifer) Mack, of
Preemption, Ill., and John (Edith) Mack, of Taylor Ridge, Ill. She was a
grandmother of 13: Eric, Rachel, Kyle and Anna Stenzel; Tyler, Kalie,
and Trey Herman; Emily and Grace Mack; TJ and Christine Mack and Erica
and Lindsay Mack.
Other survivors include sister, Mary (Michael) Redington, of
Davenport; brother-in-law, Tony (Janet) Mack, of Viola, Ill.; and
sisters-in-law, Eleanor (Tom) Forsyth, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Betty
Harbeck, of DeWitt, Iowa. She was aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Dolores also sponsored a child through the CFCA program, Jasmine Sadam,
of Quezon City, Philippines.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Dennis Mack, a
brother, John "Jack" Harbeck, her husband and her parents.
