Donald Mack

VIOLA. Ill. -- Services for Donald A. Mack, 74, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church, Viola. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Viola.
  Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, all at the church.
  Mr. Mack died Sunday in his home.
  Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, is in charge of arrangements.
  He married Marguerite Callahan in 1941 in Keithsburg, they farmed in rural Viola. He also was a supervisor until 1977 at the John Deere Plow-Planter, Moline.
  He attended the former St. Ambrose College, Davenport.
His memberships included the church, where he was a Eucharistic minister and in pastoral care and a former parish council trustee. He also was a member of St. Patrick's Society, Davenport; and a former member of Winola school board and board president 1954-61.
  He enjoyed traveling and gardening.
  Memorials may be made to the church or Mercer County Hospital Home Care.
  Survivors include his wife; daughters, Catherine Fagan, Norman, Okla.; Mary Pechous and Irene Barry, both of Iowa City; Rosanne Mack, Minnetonka, Minn.; Patricia Newswander, Aledo; and Janice Albain, Cincinnati; sons, Daniel, Minneapolis; Michael, Wichita, Kan.; Bernard, Davenport; and Robert, Fairfield, Iowa; 24 grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude Mack, Chicago; and brothers, Otis, Viola; and Michael, Waterloo, Iowa.
