Edwin L. Mack
Services for Edwin L. Mack, 68, of 1141 E. Seventh St., Des
Moines, were conducted Friday at Visitation Catholic church in Des
Moines, with Fr. Gordon Gittams and Msgr. Raymond Cooley officiating.
Mr. Mack died Tuesday, July 15 of a stroke at Luther Park Care Center in Des Moines.
He was owner and operator of the Allied Blind Co. in Des Moines
for 46 years before becoming ill last November. He was a Corning native
and lived in Des Moines 49 years. He was a member of Visitation Catholic
church and its Rosary Society. He was a graduate of Capital City Commercial College.
Survivors include his wife, Helen K.; a son, Richard of Des
Moines; two daughters, Carolyn Ann Kordick of Darien, Conn., and Barbara
Mack of Des Moines; a brother Byron of Valley Center, Ks.; and two grandchildren.
Casket bearers were Don Stiles, Paul Bardol, Jim Giles, Norbert Norpel,
Bob Weber and Richard Mumford. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens, Des Moines.
The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to
the Interfaith Church of the Land at Living History Farms in Des Moines.
