John Mack John Robert Mack, 76, of Davenport,
died August 1, 2006, in Hospice Care at Davenport Good Samaritan Center.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Weerts Funeral
Home in Davenport. Services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2006, at
10:30 a.m. also at Weerts with Monsignor Tom Mack conducting a Catholic
celebration. The burial will be at the Rock Island Arsenal National
Cemetery with full military honors.
John was born November 18, 1929, in
Mercer County, Illinois, the son of Michael and Mary Ethel Wheelan Mack.
He graduated from Reynolds High School and St. Ambrose College. He was
an Army veteran and served his country during the Korean conflict. After
many years of work, John retired from the Rock Island Arsenal. He was an
avid golfer in his earlier years.
John is survived by a sister, Mary
Young (Robert F.), Davenport; brothers, Joe (Ann), Poway, California,
Francis (Donna), Reynolds, Illinois, and Jim (Patt), Milan, Illinois; a
special nephew, Robert M. (Bob) Young, and numerous other nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers:
Paul, Leo, Bernard, William, and Daniel. Memorials may be sent directly
to Genesis West Hospice Care.
