Joseph Mack Taylor Ridge -- Joseph P. D.
Mack, 77, of 9115 134th Ave. W., Taylor Ridge, died yesterday after an
extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 9:15 tomorrow morning at the
Crummy Funeral Home, Reynolds, and 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Roman
Catholic Church, Edgington, with the Rev. Eugene Gould, pastor,
officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation
will be until 4 this afternoon and 7-9 tonight at the funeral home where
the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to
Heart Fund or the Andalusia Ambulance Service.
Mr. Mack was born Jan. 3, 1902, a son of William and Mary McManus
Mack, in Edgington Township, on the same farm where he lived all of his life.
He was graduated from St. Ambrose Academy in Davenport.
In 1932 he married Madeline VanPuymbroeck at St. Paul's Catholic
Church, Rock Island. He farmed until 1967 when he retired.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Church; the Knights of Columbus,
and the Moose Lodge.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Banowetz
of Charlotte, Iowa, Mrs. Virginia Oberle of Dixon and Miss Josephine
Mack at home; three sons, Louis of Rock Island, Lawrence of Milan, and
six grandchildren.
