Funeral Rites for Mrs. Joyce Mack Held in Missouri
Mrs. Joyce M. Mack of St. Joseph, Mo., a former Rock Island
resident, died unexpectedly at St. Joseph Hospital on Saturday morning, May 20.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 23, at 10:30 a.m. in St.
Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church and later in a small chapel in Mt.
Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The day before her death, Mr. and Mrs. Mack and their children
had started to drive to Rock Island to visit with Mrs. Ethel Mack and
other relatives. Mrs. Mack became suddenly ill and was rushed to St.
Joseph's Hospital where she died at 1 a.m. on Saturday.
She had been a resident of Rock Island until three years ago when
the family moved to Missouri.
Surviving are the widower; five sons, Paul of Iowa City, Ia.;
David of Minneapolis, Minn.; William, Timothy and Daniel, all at home; a
daughter, Marilyn at home; three brothers, George, Charles and Dennis
White of San Francisco, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. DuWayne Pond of Hawaii
and her step-mother, Mrs. Stanley White of San Francisco.

Mack Services
Services for Mrs. Joyce M. Mack, 43, will be at 10 tomorrow
morning at St. Francis Xavier Church. The Rev. Roy Grotenrath will
officiate and burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. A Bible service
will be held at 7:30 this evening in the Heaton-Bowman chapel.
Mrs. Mack, the wife of Daniel Mack, died unexpectedly Saturday at a St.
Joseph hospital. She was a native of Muskegon, Mich., and had resided in
Rock Island, Ill., before coming to St. Joseph three years ago. Her home
was at 1025 South 36th street.
