Leo T. Mack
Aledo--Leo Thomas Mack, 52 of Route 4, Aledo, was pronounced dead on
arrival at St. Anthony's Hospital, Rock Island at 4:40 yesterday afternoon.
He had apparently suffered a heart attack in his home a few hours
earlier. He had been suffering from a heart ailment for several months.
Funeral services will be held at 9:20 a.m. Monday at the Crummy Funeral
Home, Reynolds, and at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church,
Matherville. The Rev. C. M. Meyers will officiate. Burial will be in St.
Joseph's Cemetery, near Preemption.
Friends may call after 7 tomorrow night at the funeral home. The
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Mack was born April 7, 1913 in Preemption Township and
resided there all his life. He was a son of Michael and Mary Ethel
Wheelan Mack. He received his education in the Reynolds schools and
attended St. Ambrose Academy, Davenport.
He married Lucille Thornton in Matherville April 20, 1947 and the
couple farmed near Reynolds since that time.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Church, the Holy Name Society,
the Mercer County Farm Bureau and was an officer on the ASC Board.
Surviving are the widow; his mother, Mrs. Mary Ethel Mack, Rock
Island; two daughters, Barbara and Shirley, both at home; six brothers,
Joseph, Columbus, Ohio, Daniel, St. Joseph, Mo., William, Rock Island,
Francis, Reynolds, James, Route 4, Aledo, and John, Rock Island; a
sister, Mrs. Robert Young, Bettendorf, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers. |
