Madeline L. Mack
Services for Madeline L. Mack, 99 of Taylor Ridge, will be 10 a.m.
Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Andalusia, Ill. Burial will be in
Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the
Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan, Ill., where a Christian wake service will be held at 5 p.m. Additional
visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Andalusia, the
American Cancer Society, or to a favorite charity.
Mrs. Mack died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care
Center, Rock Island. The former Madeline VanPuymbroeck was born Sept. 29, 1905 in Antwerp,
Belgium, the daughter of Louis and Marie Deckers VanPuymbroeck. She married
Joseph P.D. Mack June 30, 1932, at the former St. Paul's Catholic
Church, Rock Island. He died April 17, 1979. Mrs. Mack attended the
former Brown's Business College, Rock Island.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, its Altar Society, and
the St. Patrick's Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the St.
Ambrose Catholic Church Sewing Group, Milan, the Reynolds Women's Club,
and the former Home Bureau.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Marguerite (Robert)
Banowetz, DeWitt Iowa, Virginia Oberle, Dixon, Ill., Louis (Joyce) Mack,
Rock Island, Lawrence (Sharon) Mack, Milan, Daniel Mack, Milan; six
grandchildren, three step-granddaughters; five great-grandchildren, and
four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter,
Josephine Mack; and a son-in-law Jack Oberle.
