Mrs. Mack, 87, past resident, taken by death

  Mrs. Mary Ethel Mack, 87, formerly of 1505 37th St., Rock Island, died at 5:30 yesterday afternoon at the Kahl Home, Davenport.
  Funeral services will be at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Rock Island. The Rev. Raymond Lassuy, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Preemption. Friends may call from 1:30 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Wheelan Funeral Home where there will be a Sodality Rosary at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow and a regular Rosary at 7:30 tomorrow night.
  The former Mary Ethel Wheelan was born May 1, 1887, in Seaton, Ill., the daughter of Thomas and Susan Duffey Wheelan. She received her education in Washington, Iowa.
  She was married to Michael Mack, September 28, 1910, in Washington. He preceded her in death June 8, 1955. She had lived on a farm in Preemption Township until moving to Rock Island in 1947.
  Mrs. Mack was a member of the Sacred Heart Ladies Sodality, and a Gold Star Mother of the Auxiliary of American Legion Post No. 1166, Reynolds.
  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Young, Bettendorf; six sons, Joseph, Clarendon Hills, Ill., Daniel, Charlotte, N.C., William, Rock Island, Francis, Reynolds, James, Aledo, and John, Davenport; 28 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Rose Shockley, Ludington, Mich., and three brothers, John Wheelan, Washington, Frank Wheelan, San Antonio, Tex., and Clarence Wheelan, Cedar Rapids.
  She also was preceded in death by three sons.

  Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ethel Mack, 87, formerly of 1505 37th St., Rock Island, who died Monday, were held this morning at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Rock Island. The Rev. Raymond Lassuy, pastor, officiated, and burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Preemption. The Wheelan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
  Pallbearers were Robert Young and Michael, Paul, David, Thomas and Steve Mack.
