Phyllis Mack, Corning
Phyllis Mack, 83, of Corning died March 26, 2006, at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in
Corning.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday March 29, at St.
Patrick's Catholic Church in Corning. The Rev. Tan Tran will officiate
the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Corning. Open
visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends
5 to 7 p.m. and 8 to 9 p.m., 7 p.m. wake and 7:30 p.m. rosary service at
Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Service, 701 Seventh St., Corning.
Mrs. Mack, daughter of Helen Louise (Russell) and Bruce Barry Watts, was born
Dec. 20, 1922 in Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa. On July 31, 1943, she
married Francis Mack in Denver, Colo.
She graduated from Corning high school in 1941 and attended Drake University, She worked as a
stenographer in Des Moines and Omaha four years, as Adams County Draft
Board clerk about three years and helped her husband at Mack Hardware
and Appliance. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Patrick's
Catholic Church, Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Francis Mack of Corning; three children Dan (wife
Linda) Mack of Carroll, Bruce (wife Lori) Mack of Oregon City, Ore., and
Andy Mack of Des Moines; brother Russell Watts of Atlanta, Ga.;
grandchildren Brent, Cori and Bryan Mack; step-grandchildren, Jessica
and Keisey Grant; step-great grandchildren, Ketchura and Asher; and
sister-in-law Virginia Watts of Topeka, Kan.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, daughter Helenann in infancy and brother Edwin Watts.
