William Mack
Services for William M. Mack, 75, of 51 Douglas Drive, Coal
Valley, are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock
Island. Burial is in St. Joseph Cemetery, Preemption. Visitation is 2 to
4 p.m. Sunday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, where a wake service
will be held at 3:30. Memorials may be made to Seton Junior High School
Building Fund, Moline, Alleman High School, Rock Island, or to a
favorite charity.
Mr. Mack died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at Trinity Medical Center,
West Campus, Rock Island.
He was born Nov. 29, 1922, in Preemption, the son of Michael H. and Mary
E. Wheelan Mack. He married Bessy Teros May 19, 1951, in Rock Island.
He had worked as a machine operator at the International
Harvester Works, East Moline, for 33 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock
Island. He was a member of the United Auto Workers. He enjoyed sports
and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a WW II Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Teresa A. Mack, Pinole,
Calif., Antoinette E. Mack, Davenport; a son and daughter-in-law,
Bernard J. and Amy Mack, Moline; four grandchildren; a sister, Mary
Young, Bettendorf; brothers, Joseph Mack, Poway, Calif., Francis Mack,
Reynolds, James Mack, Milan, and John Mack, Bettendorf. He was preceded
in death by brothers Paul, Bernard, Leo and Dan.
