Grover Augustus Maeder

  Grover Maeder, son of Anthony Maeder, died at his home in Victoria township, Cass county, yesterday, from flu. As yet no arrangements have been made for the funeral. Mr. Maeder leaves a wife and one child about four years of age. He was ill only a short time. The young man was very popular in his community -- absolutely square in his dealings. His death will be regretted by man friends.

  Below appears the obituary of Grover Maeder of Bridgewater vicinity, whose death we mentioned last week, which occurred Tuesday, February 17. The gentleman had been ill for about three weeks with influenza with complications. The funeral was held Thursday morning, February 19, at 10:30 o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. J. T. McGinnis, at St. Patrick's Catholic church at Massena. Interment was made in the Calvary cemetery. Grover Augustus Maeder was born March 11, 1885, on the home farm in Lincoln township and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Maeder. He resided in Lincoln township until 1911, when he moved to his farm where his death occurred. He was married to Miss Mary Crone January 31, 1915, who survives him with their two small daughters, Opal and Letha. Besides his little family he leaves his parents, one sister and six brothers; the sister is Mrs. Flora Miller and the brothers are Tony, Ben, Joe, Will and Roy, all residing in that vicinity and one brother John residing near Amity, Mo. Deceased was a high grade young man and stood high in his community and leaves a large circle of friends who deeply sympathize with the sorrowing family.
